Yahaya Bello Promises Completion Of Bassa-Dekina Anyigba Road Project
Kogi state governor , Yahaya Bello says his administration will ensure completion of Bassa-Dekina-Anyigba road project.
The governor stated this in Dekina at a ceremony to receive defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party PDP into the All Progressives Congress APC in Dekina local government area.
Bello said that contract for the road project had been awarded and that the contractor would soon be mobilized for work to commence.
While applauding Dekina people for massively supporting the APC leading to his emergence as Governor, Bello gave an assurance that his administration would not disappoint them.
He explained that government had initiated various empowerment programmes for women and youths across the state, urged them to avail themselves of the opportunity and take part.
The Kogi state governor further appealed to people of the Eastern senatorial district to eschew sectionalism and embrace equity and fairness.
Bello used the event to extol the virtues of revered leaders of Igalaland which he noted must not be forgotten.
Leader of the defectors and former PDP chairman, Dekina local government area, Hassan Aduh said their decision to leave their former party was borne out of the developmental efforts and the inclusive nature of governor Bello’s administration.
Governor Bello had earlier visited the Ejeh Dekina Alhaji Usman Obaje at his palace where he assured the Ejeh of the construction of a befitting palace as well as Construction of the Dekina township roads.
Dignitaries at the event included former Kogi governorship aspirant, Isa Jibrin Echocho, Alhaji Abdullahi Hassan ASTA and Alhaji Linco.
