Veteran Bollywood actor Vinod Khanna passed away on Thursday. He was 70.Khanna, who was suffering from advanced bladder carcinoma, breathed his last at 11.20 am.
The actor who was also a film producer and a politician, died at the HN Reliance Foundation hospital, a hospital spokesman confirmed.
Vinod Khanna had starred in more than 100 films in a career spanning over five decades. In the 1980s, at the peak of his career, he quit films to join Osho’s ashram. At the time, Osho called himself Rajneesh.
The actor, who started off as a villain, went on to star as a leading man in dozens of films including “Mere Apne”, “Insaaf” and “Amar, Akbar, Anthony”.
It is indeed a tragedy that a man who entertained millions of us for almost 4 decades has gone to the beyond after battling from cancer. Vinod Khanna will surely be missed.
