Vet Doctors seek Partnership With FRCN In Preparation for World Veterinary Day
The Director General, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Dr. Ladan Salihu has expressed the Corporation’s determination to collaborate with organizations, agencies and Associations to harness the huge human and material resources to boost the economic and political development of the country.
He stated this when the Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association visited him in Abuja, to inform the corporation of the World Veterinary Day scheduled for next week.
The FRCN Director General who was represented by the Direcor News, Mallam Sani Suleiman said Radio Nigeria had series of health programmes to sensitize Nigerians on health and food safety issues.
“As for Radio Nigeria Health and agriculture are symbiotic, there is no way you can talk about agriculture without health because food is health. It is a good thing that the incoming administration said that they will give emphasis to agriculture because without food definitely the country will not move forward. Your Association is doing a lot.”
The President of the Association, Dr. Amos Edgar said Radio Nigeria had played major roles in the social economic development of the country.
“The Radio serves broader spectrum of the society regardless of social status and Nigeria has a history whose course has been shaped to a large extent by radio in general and the FRCN in particular and we have watch closely the role FRCN played in the transformation of the country”.
Dr. Edgar who congratulated the President elect, General Muhammadu Buhari on his victory promised the Association’s willingness to work with the incoming administration.
