Two LG Chairmen Summoned Over Failure To Swear In Councillors

Two Local Government Chairmen in Niger State are to appear before the State House of Assembly on Thursday over their failure to swear in Councillors cleared by the State Independent Electoral commission INEC.

The Chairmen are that of Munya and Paikoro Local Government Councils who have refused to inaugurate Members of the third tier legislative arm since the November 2019 Elections in the State.

The Member Representing Agaie Constituency, Alhaji Yahaya Abdullahi and  his Munya counterpart, Mr Andrew Danjuma Jagaba who brought the matters before the house said the chairmen have violated the Law.

The Legislator Representing suleja Constituency, Alhaji Shuaibu liman Iya said no individual has right to violate the electoral Laws of the Nation.
