Truck Conveying 600 Bags Of Rice Kills 8 In Nasarawa

No fewer than 8 people were crushed to death by a heavy duty truck conveying 600 bags of Mama pride rice belonging to National Emergency Management Agency in Idadu community of Doma Local Government of Nasarawa state.
A survival of the fatal incident, Abdullahi Wanzan in an interview with Radio Nigeria explained that he survived the black day by the grace of God.
According to him people were shouting run for your life before he knew what was happening he was hit by the fast moving truck which lost control and in the process destroyed two households by the roadside.
Another survival and landlord, Danjuma Omaku who lost his mother expressed shocked over the sudden death.
Omaku therefore appealed to the Federal Government and owner of the transport company to assist his family to start a new life because he lost over five rooms including shops and have nowhere to go to.
Those who sustained various degree of injuries are receiving treatment at Doma General Hospital while some were admitted at Primary Health Care in Igbabu.
The Sector Commandant of the Federal Road Safety Commission could not be reached for comment as at press time.
