Trouble Looms In Nasarawa State As APC Coalition Of Governorship Aspirants Reject Almakura’s Choice

A coalition of governorship aspirants on the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC in Nasarawa State has kicked against the purported unilateral endorsement of one Alhaji Abdullahi Sule as gubernatorial candidate of the party by Governor Tanko Almakura.

At a joint press conference in Lafia, spokesperson for the coalition which is made up of more than five governorship aspirants Mustapha Galadima said they received the news of the

purported endorsement of the aspirant with shock and disbelief.

He stated that the decision of the governor is not only capable of destroying the party in the state but undemocratic stressing the need to allow the popular candidate to emerge through the choice of the people.

The APC governorship aspirants who were represented by the Directors General of their campaign organizations at conference included the state deputy governor Mr Silas Agara, Alhaji Jaafar Mohammed, Danladi Envulanza and Ahmed Wadada among others.

Meanwhile, Nasarawa state Chairman, All Progressives Grand Alliance Alhaji Musa Saidu has stressed the need for politicians to focus on issue based campaigns rather than dwelling on divisive tendencies as the electioneering approaches.

Alhaji Saidu made the call while receiving the nomination form of a state house of assembly aspirant from Doma South Constituency in Lafia.

He noted that democracy is all about the people hence the need to play politics according to the rule.

Alhaji Saidu pointed out that so far over forty nomination and expression of interest forms have been purchased by aspirants for various positions.

An aspirant on the platform of the party Mr Ose Ehada while submitting his nomination form said his decision to run for Doma South Constituency was borne out his desire to improve the standard of living of the people having been neglected by government since creation of the state in nineteen-ninety six.
