The Armed Forces of Nigeria says the Military has neutralized 343 terrorists, killed 153 bandits and recovered millions of Litres of crude oil during various military operations across the country.
The Coordinator Defence Media Operations, Defence Headquarters, Major General John Enenche made this known during an update in Abuja on Operations of Armed Forces of Nigeria.
Major General Enenche who explained that the operations were the joint Efforts of the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, Nigerian Air Force and other security Agencies said the operations led to the degrading of several terrorists and bandits.
He added that between March 18 and May 5, troops of Operations LAFIYA DOLE, HADARIN DAJI, WHIRL PUNCH,and MARITIME Operation, recorded great successes and were able to kill several terrorists, bandits and other criminals as well as destruction of their logistics facilities.
The Coordinator DMO pointed out that three hundred and forty three Boko Haram and Islamic States of West Africa Province ISWAP Terrorists wer killed in the North East and One hundred and fifty three bandits killed in North Central and other parts of the country.
He stated that nineteen terrorists leaders were also killed during the operations and the troops were able to rescue seventeen kidnapped victims as well as one thousand three hundred rustled cattle and sheeps.
He added that troops of the Maritime Operations covering Operations AWATSE and DELTA SAFE recorded tremendous successes in their operations.
Cummulatively, 61 illegal refineries were discovered, 1,781,000 (One million seven hundred and eighty one thousand) litres of crude oil, 1,756,900 (One million seven hundred and fifty six thousand, nine hundred) litres of Automotive Gas Oil, AGO were discovered among other discoveries.
The Coordinator also said that some individuals held hostage by sea pirates were also rescued.
General Enenche reiterated the commitment of the military high command to sustain offensive against terrorists and other criminals across the country.
