Traffic Control: Sierra Leonian Govt Solicits FG’s Assistance In Strengthening Road Management

The Sierra Leonian Government has solicited the Federal Government’s assistance in strengthening and building its Road Management Authority for effective traffic control.

The Executive Director of Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority Mr Ibrahim Sannah made the appeal in Abuja while leading A five Man team on a One week fact finding mission to the Federal Road Safety Commission FRSC formations in the country.

Mr Sannah while describing the roles of FRSC as the foremost traffic agency in Africa said Seiria loene was ready to understudy the operations and other guildlines for efficient service delivery in his country.

The Sierra Leonian head of traffic authority personately asked the FRSC to assist in building the capacity of officers and men as well as other logistics towards reducing road accidents that are usually high during festivities and rainy season.

He commended the FRSC Database which he said if establish same would assist the Sierra Leonian Government in having necessary information needed for planning.

In his remarks, FRSC Corps Marshal Dr Boboye Oyeyemi emphasized the need for African Countries to work together to check road accident crashes claiming the lives which was affecting socio economic development of the continent.

Dr Oyeyemi pledged to inform the appropriate authorities on their demands for necessary action on building a formidable road traffic management in Sierra Leone.

The Sierra Leonian team is expected to visit some FRSC formations across the country.
