Tarok Carnival: Dalung Decry Over Dependent on Foreign Culture

The Minister of Sports and youth Development, Mr Solomon Dalung has expressed regret that Nigerians had adopted some foreign culture, which has stagnated the country’s Development.

Mr Dalung stated this at the 2018 Tarok Cultural carnival held in Langtang South Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Dalung, who is a Tarok Indigene, said the God given Nigerian Culture teaches good values that abhors societal values that are prevalent in the country today.

He used the occasion to call on Tarok sons and daughters to refrain from politics of deceit and selfish interest and vote for leaders that will promote their interest.

In her address, the member representing Langtang North and South in the National Assembly Benny Lar affirmed that the Tarok Culture has come to stay, noting that a people without a culture or tradition have no focus and tradition.

In a keynote address, the Chairman Plateau Youth Council Dr Jemchang Kabong, challenged the Tarok people to always represent their cultural values which is built on peaceful coexistence.

Correspondent Josiah Buzun reports that this year’s festival with the theme ‘ promoting and sustaining Tarok Culture in the 21st century’, was attended by dignitaries from within and outside the country.
