Speaker Dogara Solicits Cordial Relationship Between legislatures, Executives
Speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara has described effective synergy between the Executive and Legislative arms of government as panacea for development in a Democratic setting.
Dogara stated this when he paid a courtesy visit on Governor Yahaya Bello at the government house, Lokoja.
He said members of the Legislature and executives were not meant to compete in governance but to improve on the lives of the citizens.
The Speaker was on a fact finding mission to Ajaokuta Steel Complex in the state to see how the ailing steel company can be revived.
While stressing that no nation could be fully industrialized without steel development, Dogara noted that the present administration at the Federal level had demonstrated the will to revitalize the steel complex in view of job creation and technological development.
Kogi state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello in his response reiterated that right leadership was needed to turn around the fortune of the steel complex.
Bello assured the gathering that the state government would continue to work with the National Assembly and federal government to make Ajaokuta steel complex operational.
