Some FCT Residents Express Displeasure Over Inability To Vote

As the Presidential and National Assembly Elections, commences today, some electorates at the 014 polling unit in Wuse zone 6 of the Federal Capital Territory have expressed displeasure over the inability to exercise their franchise.

Some of them who spoke with radio Nigeria explained that their names were on the displayed list but getting to the voting point the INEC ad-hoc NYSC staff couldn’t find their Names on the master list.

Mr Obi Onyeakabu, said that he was willing to exercise patience while the issue was being resolved.

Another electorate Pastor Alabi who explained that he got here and was told to stand aside while they sort it out promised that whatever it takes to sacrifice for his country, he will do in other not to be de-enfranchised he has to be patient.

The turnout of Nigerians was impressive as voters turned out in large numbers at both centres to exercise their rights and the issue of card reader malfunction wasn’t recorded.

Security men, party agents, local and foreign observers were also on ground at the polling units.

Correspondent Georgina Humphrey reports that accreditation and voting started at 9:59a.m. and stopped 2:00pm while counting is in progress at the moment
