Senator Oduah Appeals For Increase Budgetary Allocation For Women Affairs Ministry
The Senate Committee on Women Affairs has appealed to the Senate Committee on Appropriation to support an increase on the budgetary allocation of the Ministry of Women Affairs for development of Women in the Country.
A member of the Senate Committee on Women Affairs, Senator Stella Odua made the appeal in Abuja while presenting the report of the committee on the budget defence of the ministry before the Senate Committee on Appropriation.
Oduah, who represented the Chairman of the Women Affairs Committee, Senator Betty Apiafi said the five billion naira allocated to the ministry was grossly inadequate
According to Senator Odua Nigerian women constitute 61 per cent of the total population adding that the ministry should be adequately funded.
