Senate To Address Current Challenges Of Unemployment

The senate says it will review the nation’s legislation to conform with modern realities.

The senate president Bukola Saraki, represented by the senate leader Ahmed Lawan, stated this in Abuja at a public hearing on six bills by the senate committee on Employment Labour and Productivity.

Among the six bills are : Occupational Safety in work places bill, National Directorate of Employment Act, repeal and re-enactment bill, and Labour Act amendment bill .

He gave the assurance that the senate would not relent in the amendment of any legislation that would hinder any individual from employment opportunities in the country.

According to him the bills when passed into law would solve current challenges of unemployment.

Earlier ,the senate committee chairman on Employment, Labour and Productivity, Suleiman Nazif explained that the bills seek to provide harmonious working relationship between the employees and employers in the country..
