Senate Holds Valedictory Session To Honour Late Datong

The senate dedicated Wednesday plenary for valedictory to honour their departed colleague late senator Longjan Datong, who represented plateau South in the ninth Senate.

The valedictory session was announced by the senate leader, Abdullahi Yahaya during plenary in Abuja.

All the senators at plenary took turn to speak glowingly of late senator Datong .

In a remark the president of the senate, Ahmad Lawan, described the valedictory as a reminder of the sad reality of death and added that death is a necessary end.

The senate offered special prayers for the repose of the soul of late senator Datong.

The red chamber also observed a minute silence for their late colleague.

lawmakers later filed out of the chamber in procession to honour their departed colleague.

The senate later adjourned plenary to next legislative date.
