Queen Elizabeth Gives Prince Philip The Best Gift For Their 70th Wedding Anniversary

The longest reigning monarch can now add longest married royal couple to her accomplishments and probably ‘Best gift giver’ for her 70th wedding anniversary.

Queen Elizabeth and The Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip, just hit platinum. Her Majesty the Queen for hitting 70 years in marriage and counting, presented her husband with a gift that’s got us going ‘awwww’.

Her Majesty the Queen has knighted her husband to be a Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order (GCVO). It sounds very kingly don’t you think?

This, they say, is for “services to the sovereign.”

Buckingham palace, the Queen’s residence, made the official announcement via Twitter after releasing the official anniversary photos.

His Royal Highness is already a Knight of the Most Noble Order of the Garter, a Knight of the Most Ancient and Most Noble Order of the Thistle, and a Knight Grand Cross of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire. However, his GCVO, it is thought, makes him the only living U.K. citizen with four knight titles.

Do you think his royal highness can top this gift?
