A Non Governmental Organisation, Partners West Africa Nigeria, PWAN wants the Federal Capital Territory Administration to improve on infrastructure in Primary Healthcare Centres, Schools and environmental sanitation in Bwari and Abuja Municipal Area Councils for enhanced service delivery.
The Executive Director of the organization, Mrs Kemi Okenyodo made the call in Abuja at a forum on Promoting Civil society participation in Anti corruption efforts in Nigeria.
Mrs Okenyodo explained that based on the findings, it observed that some projects especially in public schools and health care centres, that agencies responsible for project execution performed below expectation
She stressed the need for more engagement and enlightenment on the participation of citizens in project execution.
On her part, the Program Assistant PWAN Ms Nneka Odenigbo who commended the area councils in some areas emphasized the need to build the capacity of staff, improve service delivery in healthcare centres and environmental sanitation in parts of the area Councils
She also recommended proper security infrastructure in public schools
Ms Odenigbo urged the area Councils to involve more public private partnership to improve infrastructure.
