Police Arrests Three Rapists, Gang Of Car Snatcher

Plateau State Police Command has arrested three people for rape of three underage girls and as well apprehended three other notorious car snatchers terrorizing the people of Jos, Plateau state and its environs.

Addressing newsmen  in Jos, the State Commissioner of Police,  Babatunde Ogunyanwo said in June one Ali Usman of Bulbulla area of Jos reported at Angwan Rogo Police Station that her daughter who is six years old was raped by Ibrahim Mukaila.

According to him, the thirty five years old suspect who was arrested and the victim were taking to the Police Clinic Jos and it was confirmed that the girl was defiled adding that the case had been transferred to CID Jos for further investigation.

In a related development, the State Commissioner of Police stated that one Shafiu Yusuf of Lasisi Mankanjo of Jos North Local Government Area of the state came to Laranto Police Station and reported that Abdullahi Yusuf who is fifty years old and who was his neighbor has constantly violated his niece who is five years by having unlawful carnal knowledge of her.

The Commissioner of Police said the little girl confirmed the information to be true adding that the suspect was arrested and confessed to the crime during an interrogation adding that the girl further stated that the suspect always warned her not to let anyone know of the illicit act.

He further stated that another girl was defiled by a thirty five years old man adding that both the victim and the suspect were arrested and taking to Police Clinic and it was confirmed the girl was defiled.

Ogunyanwo also added that the Command had equally arrested a three man gang of alleged car snatchers and four vehicles and a pistol were recovered from them adding that investigation into their nefarious activities is ongoing and shall be charge to court as soon as possible.

To curtail rampant criminal incidences in Plateau State, the State Commissioner of Police said the Command has employed different strategies and workable security measures to stem the tide adding that from May to date over fifty armed robbery and culpable Homicide suspects have been put in custody.
