Plateau Polls: APC Clears 11 Out Of 13 LGs
The Chairman Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission ,PLASIEC, Mr Fabian Ntung, has announced that the All Progressive Party ,APC, has won eleven out of the thirteen local government areas in the just concluded election in the state.
Mr Ntung, however declared the results of two local governments, Langtang North and Mangu LGA’s inconclusive.
It could be recalls that four local governments Barkin Ladi, Jos South, Jos North and Riyom did not participate in the elections after the state electoral body sited security as reasons for the their non participation in the exercise.
Meanwhile, the State Chairman of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Damisi Shango while reacting to the announcement of the results, faulted the entire process which he said was marred with irregularities with electoral officers and returning officers disappearing after d elections.
Shango while briefing journalists warned the governor and the ruling party not to breach the peace in the state but allow the will of the people to prevail.
He explained that while anxious voters were waiting at the collation centres to get PLASIEC’s verdict on their free franchise, the electoral officers and returning officers disappeared with the results
He added that from the foregoing, it is clear that governor Lalong and the ruling APC in the state are out of desperation to hold on to power even when it is clear that they have lost.
Shango appealed to the governor to allow good conscience to prevail.
