Plan Nigeria To Support Government Efforts Addressing Educational Needs Of Children Affected By Natural Disasters,Conflicts
Federal government says it is working out modalities to address educational needs of children affected by natural disasters and in the country.
The Deputy Director National and International Development Partners, Education Support Service Department, Federal Ministry of Education Mrs Cynthia Nkiru Osisioma made this known at a forum to commemorate the Day of African child in Abuja.
The event was organized by Plan International to discuss the situation of Nigeria children especially those displaced by natural disasters and insurgency.
Mrs Cynthia osisioma said the modalities which include the curriculum of emergency situation became necessary to ensure that the rights of any child was not infringed upon.
Mrs osisioma who also applauded development partners for supporting government programs called on organizations and individual to contribute meaningfully to the plight of children affected by insurgency.
In a remark, The Policy, Research and Influencing Mr. Tunde Aremu said its organization would not relent in supporting government policies that would enhance National development.
Mr. Aremu added that Plan international would suggests ideas that can impact positively to the younger generation.
In her contribution, a youth activist, Ms Wadi Ben-Hirki called for sustainable and skills acquisition especially displaced camp.
Other stakeholders at the forum called on government to translate promises to action to safeguard the future of the younger generation.
