The Attah of Igala and paramount ruler of Igala kingdom, Idakwo Michael Oboni has reportedly slept eternally,.
The monarch who has been in Abuja undergoing treatment for an undisclosed ailment for over a month, was the chairman, Kogi State traditional council.
The paramount ruler of Igala kingdom, HRM Michael Ameh Oboni II is dead.
The monarch died on Thursday morning.
The cause of his death is still sketchy as at the time of filing this report.
Prince Idakwo Michael Ameh Oboni was born in 1948. He enrolled at the Saint Boniface Primary School Idah and completed in 1960.
He was admitted at Saint Augustine College Kabba in 1961 and graduated in 1967
He was a retired estate officer from the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), he retired as a deputy acting director before he settled in Lokoja.
He joined the Airforce in 1968 and was discharged in 1974 on his request. Prince Idakwo worked briefly at the Ministry of Lands in the then old Kwara state as land inspection officer from 1974 to 1975.
He resigned in 1975 and proceed to Kaduna Polytechnic in 1976 to study Estate Management and graduated in 1980.
In 1981, he took up appointment with the FCDA and retired in 2006 as a deputy director
Earlier this month the Attah sacked officials of the apex Igala Cultural Development Association, ICDA and also dissolved the Board of Trustees (BOT) and the National Executive Council of the ICDA for fallen short of the age long aspirations of the Igala Kingdom”,.
“A virus has crept into the organisation”. he noted.
And approved a newly constituted care taker committee to run the affairs of the association.
His hope was to see a united and progressive Association that would contribute to the unity and development of Igala Kingdom, Kogi State and Nigeria at large.
