Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo has called on Nigerians to remain resolute in working together for the unity, peace, and development of the country.
Professor Osinbajo made the call at the interdenominational Church Service to Mark the 61st Independence Anniversary of Nigeria and 45th Anniversary of the Christain Association of Nigeria held at National Christain Centre Abuja.
Professor Osinbajo who was the special guest of honour tasked Nigerians to keep the vision of the nation’s founding fathers and work together to keep the country United.
He reminded the congregation that despite the numerous challenges since independence till date, God is still keeping and blessing the country.
Professor Osinbajo however stressed the need for all ethnic groups to keep hope alive as it is not yet an appointed time for the country to disintegrate
In his sermon, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christain Church of God Pastor Enoch Adeboye appealed to Nigerians to always appreciate the Love of God for keeping the country together despite her challenges since 1960.
Pastor Adeboye, therefore, called on Nigerians irrespective of their political and ethnoreligious backgrounds to work in Unity and support efforts at ensuring the corporate existence of the country.
The General Overseer of RCCG expressed optimism that the county would overcome her challenges.
The special interdenominational Thanksgiving service was attended by the Members of the Federal Executive Council, national assembly, members of the diplomatic corps, political and religious leaders as well as senior government officials.
The service featured special prayers for leaders at all levels,. Rendition by the central and Youth choirs as well as Bible readings by some Christain leaders.
