NOA Implore Nigerians To Use 2019 Elections To Deepen Democracy

The National Orientation Agency, NOA, has implored Nigerians to use the 2019 elections to deepen the nation’s democracy.
Director General of the NOA, Dr Garba Abari made the call during a sensitization and mobilisation forum with theme “Towards a peaceful and violence free 2019 polls” held in Ilorin.
Dr Abari who was represented by a deputy director at the headquarters, Mr Omowa Adelakun said the program is part of activities lined up by the agency to achieve a hitch free election next year.
Dr Abari urged the electorate to embrace attitude that are in tandem with global democratic culture during the forthcoming general election.
While calling on the youth not to allow themselves to be used as thugs before, during and after the election, the NOA boss reaffirmed commitment of the agency in eschewing do or die politics.
In a message, the secretary to the Kwara State Government, Alhaji Isiaka Gold, represented by Elder David Adesina said government would do everything within the ambit of the law to ensure that the 2019 election does not lead to breach of peace and harmony the state is known for.
The State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Alhaji Isiak Sabi described voter education as an essential component of any election.
In a keynote address, the Kwara State INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Malam Garba Madami represented by Mr Oluyitan Ben appealed to those who are yet to collect their PVC to do so.
Earlier in a welcome address, the Kwara State Director of the NOA, Mr Olusegun Adeyemi admonished citizens to shun voter apathy, vote buying and violence.
