NMDC Appeals For Funding To Achieve Developmental Strides

The National Metallurgical Development Centre, NMDC Jos, wants investors in the mining sector to harness the potential of the centre to move the metal and Steel industry to enviable height.
The Chairman Governing Board of the centre Dr Sabastine Ibezim made the call at a two day meeting with board members in Jos.
In a statement by the head public relations of the centre, Sunny Eweama, Dr Ibezim says the resuscitation of Ajaokuta Steel Company will give the centre the needed assistance to boost the nation’s steel sector.
It therefore decries poor funding of the center by the Federal Government as the major challenge militating against its rapid development.
According to the statement, Dr Ibezim appeals to the Federal Government to increase the financial subventions of the centre to enable it carry out it developmental strides.
The statement explains that the Director General of the centre, Professor Linus Asuquo says the main purpose of the center is to upgrade Nigeria low- grade ores and minerals through beneficiation technique by extracting the mineral content for economic sufficiency.
