NMA Kogi Chapter Says Strike Continues, Insists No Going Back

The Nigerian Medical Association, kogi state chapter says there is no going back on the ongoing strike until the state government meet their minimum demands of payment of forty percent salaries arrears from August to December.

The Chairman Nigerian medical Association, kogi state chapter, Doctor Godwin Tijani.

The Association also called for the implementation of revised Consolidated medical salary scale, CONMESS.

The Chairman of the association Kogi state chapter, Doctor Godwin Tijani stated this in a communiqué issued at the end of the association’s meeting in Lokoja.

Doctor Tijani said all health care centers in the state would be shut down until their demands are met.

He also directed members at the federal medical center Lokoja to proceed on sympathy strike on the first three days of every month .

Doctor Tijani also said that all private health care facilities in the state would equally be shut down if there is no response from the state government in the next few days.

The association also lamented the situation where some experienced medical offices were asked to proceed on compulsory retirement for no justifiable reason.
