The Nigerian Armed Forces says its troops have eliminated eight hundred and Sixty nine criminals, rescued three hundred and twenty one kidnapped victims and arrested over one thousand during various operations across the country.
The Coordinator Defence Media Operations Defence Headquarters Major General John Enenche who stated this at a media briefing in Abuja on the Third Quarter Scorecard on its operations said millions of Litres of illegally refined petroleum products were also recovered.
General Enenche who explained that the briefing covered July to September this year said the Armed Forces in collaboration with sister security Agencies engaged in Kenetic and non Kenetic Operations which yielded successes.
According to him, troops of Operation Thunder Strike, Safe Haven and Whirl Stroke in the North Central rescued one hundred and sixteen kidnapped victims, arrested one thousand one hundred and thirty six thousand Darul Salam sect, killed one hundred and seven armed bandits including militia leader and recovered arms and ammunition.
The Coordinator stated that troops in the North West Zone recovered three thousand eight hundred and twenty nine livestock, six thousand eight hundred and thirty rounds of ammunition, arrested three hundred and ninety one armed bandits, gunrunners and bandits collaborators as well as recovered four million eight hundred thousand naira from armed bandits informants.
He also added that troops of Operation Lafiya Dole rescued sixty six kidnapped victims, eliminated four hundred and fifty Insurgents/ Terrorists including high ranking commanders, recovered ten gun trucks, eighty four assorted rifles, thirty eight granade and arrested fifty three terrorists members.
In the South South and South West zones, General Enenche said troops of Operation Delta Safe and AWATSE recorded tremendous successes with the recovery of over nine million barrels of crude oil and illegally refined petroleum products
The Coordinator while stressing that the military was determined to sustain offensive against Terrorists and bandits advised other criminals to surrender or face the full wrath of the be Armed Forces.
