Nigerian Army Begin Search For Retired Military General Drowned By Unknown Persons
The Nigerian Army has began the evacuation of water from a mining Pond in Dura Da area of Jos South LGA of Plateau state where a retired Military General is suspected to have been drowned by unknown persons.
Speaking to journalists at the evacuation site, the Commander of the Special Task Force in Jos, code named operation Safe Haven, Major General Augustine Agundu said effort will be made to recover the body of late General Alkali.
Major General Agundu said they has received information that people are been attacked in that area and the Army would do everything possible to get to the bottom of issues
He explained that there was a lot of suspicion surrounding the pond in question and it is now a National assignment to unravel the mystery underneath the water.
Meanwhile some women in the area have protested the evacuation of the water which they see as their heritage and could lead to lost of life if the water is evacuated.
The Commander, 3 Division, Nigeria Army Jos, Brigadier General Umar Muhammed stated that nothing can stop the evacuation.
Major General Alkali was believed to be on his way to Bauchi from Abuja when his vehicle disappeared along Dura Da in jos South LGA of Plateau state.
