Nigeria Customs Intercepts Luxury Bus With Cannabis Marijuana Weighing 140kg
The Nigerian Customs Service, Federal Operations unit zone ‘’D’’ has intercepted and seized a Luxury Bus, with Cannabis Marijuana weighing one hundred and forty kilograms.
The cannabis were concealed in two bales of second hand clothing with the street value of over twelve million naira.
The Controller Federal Operation Unit, zone ‘’D’’ Peter Olahigboyega handed over the cannabis, Luxury Bus Driver and two motor boys to the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA in Jos, the Plateau state capital.
Correspondent Murtala Sani was at the Customs House Plateau Area command and witnessed the handing over.
The Controller Federal Operation Unit, zone ‘’D’’ Peter Olahigboyega said the unprecedented seizure was made as a result of surveillance and determination of the operatives in making the zone comprising Plateau, Benue, Nasarawa and Bauchi states unbearable for smugglers.
The Controller Federal Operation Unit, zone ‘’D’’ called on patriotic citizens to always avail the Nigerian Customs Service credible information that would assist the command in fishing out defaulters.
Peter Olahigboyega reiterated commitment of the Nigerian Customs Service in suppressing smuggling in the zone, adding the patriotic citizens should go about their legitimate businesses in accordance with the extant laws as enshrined in the Customs and excise management act.
Responding to the handing and taking over the accused, the Assistant state Commandant Operations and intelligence Muhammad Shafi’I-Saeed commended the Federal Operations of the Customs service and expressed their commitment to synergize with the service to ensure the culprit face the full weight of the law.
The operatives of the Federal Operations Unit zone D Bauchi intercepted and arrested the Marcopolo Luxury bus with registration number SE 641 AWK belonging to GUO transport company, along Jos-Abuja road.
