Niger State Gov Advocates Revival Of Grazing Reserves

 Governor Abubakar Bello of Niger state has stressed the need for the revival of grazing reserves across the country to reduce farmer/herdsmen conflicts .

Governor Bello stated this when he visited Bobi grazing reserve in Mariga local government area of the state.

Governor Abubakar Bello said with the insistent farmers /herdsmen clashes, there was urgent need to reactivate all grazing reserves in the country. 

He explained that the Bobi reserve will get the attention it deserves especially with the provision of basic social amenities. 

The project officer of the reserve, Doctor David Tshado stressed the need for government to address all problems facing it to make it more functional. 

The reserves which is over thirty thousand hectres, has over 700 households.

Bobi grazing reserves which was handled over to the Niger state government by the federal government in 2006, is however in dire need of overhauling.
