The Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities, JONAPWD has condemned in strong terms the alleged dehumanization of a physically challenged man by two members of the Armed Forces in Onitsha Anambra State on Tuesday this week.
This is contained in a statement made available to Kapital fm, Abuja.
In the statement, National President of the Association, Judith Umoh describes the torture of the Physically challenged on an excuse of wearing a military camouflage, as contravention of fundamental human rights and inimical to the course of the rule of law.
JONAPWD is an umbrella organization of persons with disability established in Nigeria to promote the rights and development of Nigerians with disabilities.
The organization was established in 1992, to represent the interests of the teeming population of persons with disabilities at the local and international level.
The statement while vehemently detesting the treatment, calls for proper investigation into the matter.
