The Young Mom’s Support Initiative, a Non Governmental Organization, wants President Mohammadu Buhari, to support more women with grants to establish small scale businesses.
The Executive Director of the NGO, Dr. Mrs Vivian Sonny-Nsirim stated this while addressing journalists in Abuja at the end of the 21st Annual National Entrepreneurship and Economic Summit.
Dr Sonny-Nsirim who was conferred a Doctor of Business Administration in International Management said this would lift more women out of poverty and reduce unemployment in the country.
The award which was given to her by the ABA Business School, an Affiliate of London Business School, Uk was in recognition of her numerous contributions to business development, business management and reault oriented business strategies.
Dr. Mrs Sonny-Nsirim who is also the founder of the Young Mom’s Forum the largest Online community of over 1.5million women has empowered more than ten thousand Nigerians on different skills acquisition programs for self sustenance.
According to her “Women entrepreneurs are becoming more successful in today’s business world, hence the need to empower more women, to grow the value chain”
She discouraged every acts of marginalization against women in the country, noting that women are the bedrock of any society.
The conferment ceremony attracted numerous scholars like professor Prince Ebulu, His Royal Highness Alhaji Ahmed Hassan, Emir of Uke Kingdom, Chief Dr. Onyekachi Iheme along side fifteen other awardees.
