Announcing the result , the returning officer and Vice-chancellor University of Maiduguri, Prof.Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi said Governor Gaidam scored the highest number of votes of three hundred and thirty-five thousand,eight hundred and forty seven.
Also Senator Ben Ayade of the People Democratic Party was declared winner of the governorship election in Cross River State.
Senator Ayade polled three hundred and sixty thousand votes,his closest rival ,Mr.Odey Ochicha of APC scored fifty three thousand, nine hundred and eighty three votes.
Asaba , the Delta State Capital, was agog with jubilation and celebrations as PDP governorship candidate Senator Ifeanyi Okowa was declared winner of the April 11 governorship election by the returning officer Prof. Bio Nyanayo.
Meanwhile INEC has resheduled election in four out of the thirty state constituencies in Anambra State.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state Mr.Edwin Nwatarali announced this while briefing newsmen in Akwa.
He said the reasons ranged from electoral violence, card reader malfunction to loss of election materials.
According to him the results for Anambra West Constituencies were still being collated as at the time of compiling this report.
He noted that the constituencies where elections were resheduled include Anoacha one and two,Uga Ward one and two and Ekwusigo.
He said rescheduled elections earlier slated for the twenty-fifth of this month would now hold on the eighteenth of this month including.

The National Coordinator, League of Voters in Nigeria, Dr. Benedict Kokoiwen made the call while reacting to the just concluded polls.
While congratulating the newly elected persons on their victories, Dr. Kokoiwen commended those who lost for conceding defeat.
He urged Nigerians to support and encourage their leaders to enable them succeed in carrying out their responsibilities.
