Nationwide Protest: NLC Plateau Chapter Protest in Compliance

Plateau state chapter of the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC on Tuesday staged a protest in compliance to the nationwide protest for the immediate enactment and implementation of the new minimum wage of thirty thousand naira.
The protest which commenced around Seven in the morning with civil servants singing solidarity songs and carry placards with a march from the Old airport Junction to the Old Government House Rayfield in Jos, where they were received by the Deputy Governor, Professor Sonni Tyoden.
Representing the National President of NLC, Comrade Ayuba Wabba, President of the Agricultural and Allied Employee Workers of Nigeria, Comrade Simon Anchaver, presented a letter of commit to the governor saying the decision to embark on a protest was the last resort to fight for workers rights.
Responding on behalf of the governor, Simon Lalong, the Deputy governor Sonni Tyoden said although government has agreed to pay a new minimum wage, it is yet to decide on the new figure it can afford.
