The Executive Secretary, Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, NCPC Reverend Yakubu Pam has called on Nigerian Youths to embrace peace, shun violence and contribute positively to National Development.
He made the call in Jos during a two day Leadership and Peace Summit organised by the Christian Association of Nigeria, Plateau State Youth Wing.
The NCPC boss who was the guest speaker at the event spoke on ‘Promoting Peaceful Co- existence as a Tool for National Development’ urged them to embrace peace at all times.
He highlighted some of the security threats affecting the peaceful co-existence in the country to include, boko haram insurgency, farmers herders conflict, agitations by some ethic groups kidnapping, amongst others.
He stressed that peace is not merely the absence of war, but the presence of justice and good governance.
He admonished the youths to avoid unnecessary competitions and come together to mediate on common issues affecting them, the state and the nation.
He emphasized the need for youths to embrace dialogue at all times in resolving their grievances.
The theme of the two days Leadership and Peace Summit is: ” The Christian Youth Leader: Strategizing to Cope with the Challenges of Con temporary times“.
