National Task Force on Importation of Illegal Arms, Ammunition, Light Weapons and Chemicals, NATFORCE has arrested over Forty Criminals with dangerous weapons in the Federal Capital Territory.
NATFORCE Commander Special Operations, Mr Aliyu Aminu-Wayas stated this while speaking with newsmen in Mararaba, Nassarawa State
Mr Aminu-Wayas who said the criminals were arrested at Kabusa, Abuja Municipal Area Council and Dutse in Bwari Area Council appealed to FCT residents to be security conscious at all times.
He explained that some armed bandits identified as foreigners disguise as petty traders during the day to survey an area for their nefarious activities at night.
Mr Aminu-Wayas stressed the need for the Acting Inspector General of Police to urgently provide a Back Up for the NATFORCE to enhance its operations.
According to him, NATFORCE under the leadership of Mallam Musa Mohammed-Katsina was ready to work with other security agencies to end the activities of bandits, kidnappers and Boko Haram in the FCT and neighbouring states.
He also appealed to the National Assembly to expedite action on the NATFORCE Bill which he said had passed second reading.
The Commander however Congratulated Muslims for the successful completion of this year’s Ramadan and pledged the organisation’s readiness to carry out its responsibility of protecting lives and property of every Nigerian.
