NACA Urges States To Donate 1 Percent Of FG Allocation To HIV Programme (Audio)
The National Agency for the Control of Aids NACA was established with the core mandate of coordinating HIV activities in the country.
In 1986 the first case of HIV was discovered in the country and afterwards International donors began to fund Nigeria response.
Since then HIV response in the country has been heavily donor dependent until the last few years when International donors commenced gradual withdrawal of their support urging Nigeria to take ownership of the programme.
How has the National Agency for the Control of Aids and people living with HIV fared in the face of dwindling general assistance and what strategy is Nigeria putting in place to take ownership of her HIV programme?
