When you reach a certain age, you begin to realize that while money can provide some security, The best things in life are actually free, little wonder the saying that “money can’t buy happiness”,
There isn’t anything wrong with having money, per se (In-fact the lack of money itself is a major problem) It’s the prioritization of accumulating money at all costs that is the problem.
Many have realized in its relentless pursuit that money is not, and never will be, the answer to what makes a person happy.Rather, they have come to know that the love of money is the root of all evil.
Understanding this fact and balancing the knowledge will help us put our money to work for us instead of working or becoming slaves for money, also the realization that the most important things in life can not be bought with money will further liberate us.
Here are some of the things money cannot buy
Consider with me a scenario in which a man works so hard neglecting family, friends, and even his health to acquire tremendous wealth, his hard work pays off and the moment he receives the bank alert crediting his account with billions of dollars his health (which he neglected in his pursuit of money) fails him and he gets a heart attack from the excitement that leaves him dead in minutes. Of what use is his money then ?It could not save his life, but rather took it..Hmmmn Despite all of the scientific and medical advances, there exists no practical way to significantly extend life. The extremely wealthy have spent countless amounts of money in vain . Life is a free gift from God, only him gives, only he takes
Did you know that human life can survive many days without food or water but only a few days without sleep, yes money can buy you an exotic bed made of gold like the one we read of in fairy tales but it is only God who gives sleep, I do not want to remember the time I was bereaved and could not sleep , chai, thank God for his mercies! Many “Big Men today would give up a chuck of their wealth just for a good nights sleep, do not say you heard it from me o,But seriously we need to start being grateful for the gifts we have freely received!
Each passing minute is time that you will never get back; I come from the Tiv speaking part of Nigeria. My people greet in the most thought provoking way, ‘U pande ve? Direct translation in English means “Have You Reduced”?(basically it is a reminder that everyday ones days on earth a reduced by one) This is not meant to be morbid or depressing, but a wake up call. why spend precious time in pursuit of vain things, instead of things that trully matter
Spend time with your children, with loved ones, make pleasant memories,do goodthings for total strangers
No amount of money will be able to turn the clocks back. not even the very expensive designer wrist watches o. We must simply take life in, moment-by-moment, while experiencing it to the fullest.
4. A Home
Hear me well sir and Ma, that fine house is just a building , pure amazing architecture shikenah! .A house is not a Home lai lai.To make a home you need time, love, laughter, memories, nurturing, forgiveness, patience, understanding …the list goes on
Many have died, cold, empty, unfulfilled, lonely in beautiful mansions because they spent all their energy making money to buy a beautiful house and forgot to build a loving home! let us shine our eyes and be wise, too many examples all around us
The gifts and abilities that you possess in your mind and body are priceless. While money can certain help develop a talent, and with the kind of lectures we have in universities these days, your money can buy you good grades and you will graduate with a first class honors and everyone will say you are intelligent, your qualification may even get you a big position and consequently make you wealthy but Alas, you will be labelled “Money miss road” oo have you not seen it happen before, they live amongst us
The mental processes and dexterity of the mind and body will never be purchasable…they are invaluable. The good book charges of in all our getting to get wisdom and understanding, let he who lacks ask it from God, Good news,it is freely given ‘
Rich is he who has money, but wealthy indeed is he who has the things money can not buy.
Think seriously on these things and many more
Have a great year!
