Nigeria’s House of Representatives has called on the incoming Muhammadu Buhari administration to suspend operations of renowned auditing firm, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in the country.
This is for failing to produce a credible forensic audit report on the 20 billion dollars missing from the coffers of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation.
The Chairman, House Committee on Public Accounts Solomon Olamilekan disclosed this at a news briefing in Abuja.
He also urged the International Federation of Accounting Associations and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria to investigate the activities of the firm in the forensic audit saga and apportion necessary sanctions.
Olamilekan was reacting to the firm’s disclosure that it did not carry out a detailed audit report as requested by the Nigerian government.
