Military To Construct Medical Dispensary, Other Projects In North West

The Armed Forces of Nigeria is to construct medical dispensary and embark on other projects in the North West theater of Operation.

The Coordinator Defence Media Operations, Defence Headquarters, Major General John Enenche who made this known during a media briefing said the military drilled nine boreholes in some communities in the region.

General Enenche explained that to complement the efforts of the Federal Government in meeting the needs of the people, the military is to embark on some laudable projects in some communities in Katsina one of the theater of operation.

He said that due to the renewed offensive by troops at various theaters of operations, the military had continued to record some milestones in the fight against terrorism and banditry.

The Coordinator pointed out that through the joint Efforts of the land and air components of operations Hadarin Daji, Katsina and Accord,scores of bandits were killed, some apprehended and six kidnapped victims rescued.

He also explained that in the Niger Delta region, troops of the Armed Forces were able to discover some illegal refineries, stolen crude oil, refined Premium Motor Spirit (petrol), Automatic Gas Oil AGO(Diesel) and killed some militants in Rivers State.

General Enenche added that troops of Operation Whirl Stroke apprehended one militia leader known as Alhaji Audu in Olegeje community in Agatu Benue State while troops of Operation Lafiya Dole in Monguno Borno state eliminated forty one terrorists, recovered arms and ammunition and rescued 33 held captive.
