Member Plateau State Assembly Seeks Legislative Intervention To Enhance Institutional Performance
The Senator representing Plateau North in the National Assembly Istifanus Gyang has called for Legislative interventions that will enhance the performance of Institutions and establishments in the Country.
The Senator stated this when paid a familiarization visit to the Management of the Industrial Training Fund in Jos.
He explained that with the Senate now in recess, he decided to visit federal institutions in his constituency to familiarize and seek ways of enhancing their performance.
The Senator said with his legislative capacity he will examine the act establishing the ITF and other federal institutions with a view of determining areas of enactment and amendments.
Senator Gyang said his people have decided to live together with one another irrespective of differences for the overall development of the area.
Responding, Director General of the ITF Sir Joseph Ari called for a state of emergency in the country’s skills development sector.
Ari expressed the readiness of the Fund to synergies with the Senator, particular in the area of Youth empowerment, noting that the fund had tagged 2019 as a year of addressing negative vices among youths.
He said with the campaign and elections over, it was time for everyone to unite to enjoy the dividends of Democracy to the people.
Also speaking, the Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly Ayuba Nuhu Abok applauded the ITF for its youth empowerment programs and called on the Senator to lobby for Federal presence in the state.
