
Medical Activities Crippled At FMC Bida As Health Workers Embark On Strike

Medical activities have nose dived at the Federal Medical Centre Bida Niger state following the strike by the Joint Health sector Union.
The strike which is a directive from the National body of the union, commenced with a peaceful procession by the striking workers.
The Chairman Joint Action Committee of the facility, Comrade Idris Mohammed Yakubu explained that members of the union have been unfairly treated by the Federal Ministry of Health.

He said the action would not be suspended until their demands were met.
Radio Nigeria correspondent Sode Mohammed reports that, the Vice Chairman of the Committee, Mr. Umaru Ibrahim pointed out that the actions of the Ministry of Health was promoting discrimination among workers.
Meanwhile, the Medical Director of the Centre, Doctor Mohammed Aminu Usman explained that measures have been put in place to ensure emergency services did not suffer during the period.
