Lockdown: FCTA Seal Off Pacific Guest Inn, Nyanya
The Federal Capital Territory Ministerial Task-team on the enforcement of COVID-19 restriction has sealed off Pacific Hotel and Guest Inn for violating the presidential lockdown order on hotels to curtail the spread of COVID 19.
Speaking to some reporters, Chairman of the Enforcement Team Comrade Ikharo Attah, said several people who were seen eating and drinking were arrested, before the Guest Inn was sealed.
Comrade Attah said the sealing of the Pacific Guest Inn which is situated at Boundary road Nyanya checkpoint, Abuja , was made possible following a court order granted by the FCT Magistrate Court sitting at the Eagle Square.
According to the Court Order, Presiding Chief Magistrate II, Idayat Akanni said the Guest Inn is sealed off for being in breaches of presidential order of lockdown for a period of one week.
Comrade Attah explained that security operatives who were sent to monitor the hotel following a tip off, actually saw large crowd of people in the bar eating and drinking.
Comrade Attah appealed to other hotel owners to comply with the guidelines on COVID-19.
In a related development, 50 persons at the Abuja/Nasarawa border, from Akwanga heading to Zamfara were arrested and asked to return to where they came from.
The 50 persons were hidden in between food items covered with tarpaulin.
