Kwara State Government says it will continue to partner individual, groups and corporate bodies in a bid to advance quality of education in the state.
The State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Bilikis Oniyangi, made this known while addressing a news conference organized to signal the commencement of the first ever kwara state inter school quiz competition initiated by a Non-Governmental organisation, Saliu Mustapha Foundation in Ilorin.
Hajia Oniyangi who described education as the greatest legacy for the upcoming generation said that the inter-school quiz competition was inline with the state government policy on education and Human capital development.
She commended the NGO for partnering the state government in adding value to the educational sector in the state.
Earlier, the initiator, Mallam Saliu Mustapha who was represented by Mr Yaqub Ishowo explained that the theme of the competition which is “Investment in Education, the Solution to all Problems” is aimed at fulfilling one of the goals of the foundation which is to empower the leaders of tomorrow in the areas of education and career development.
The inter-school quiz competition will feature preliminary and grand finale stages where overall first, second and third winners will be giving mouth watering prizes as a way of motivating the students
