The Federal Capital Territory Administration is to mobilise a construction company to provide a temporary measure for residents of Yaba in Kwali Area Council who lost their roads to erosion.
The erosion was said to have occurred as a result of the collapse of the Yaba bridge embankment.
The Secretary, Area Council Services Secretariat, Alhaji Adamu Bappah gave this hint in an interview with Kapital FM in Abuja.
Alhaji Bappah who explained that the Administration had concluded arrangements to mobilise Julius Berger to provide temporary measure that would give relief to the residents, said the Federal Government had earlier approved the contract for the construction of the Yaba bridge before the collapse of its embankment that occurred last Saturday.
According to Bappah, the temporary road became necessary as residents at the moment could only access the road by Canoe or go through Suleja in Niger state to link to other communities in the territory.
Alhaji Bappah also said the Administration would write and liase with the Ecological Fund office in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, to provide a long term solution to the problem of the collaped bridge embankment in Yaba community.
