About one hundred and five thousand women across Kogi state are to be empowered in various skills and businesses before end of the year.
Kogi state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello made this known in Okene while addressing a large gathering after Eid prayers.
Alhaji Bello explained that he was not unaware of the hardships been faced by people but that government was doing its best to ameliorate the sufferings of its citizens.
According to him, the present administration would continue to provide the opportunity and enable environment for investments to thrive.
Governor Bello further advised people of the area particularly youths to shun all forms of vices and be law abiding at all times.
Meanwhile, Director General, Kogi state Bureau for Information and Grassroot sensitization, Alhaji Abdulmalik Abdulkarim urged citizens to remain steadfast on the path of peace as Muslims celebrate the Eid el Kabir.
Alhaji Abdulmalik stated this while addressing newsmen in Okene.
He said that peace was a panacea for development and that the Bello led administration was building bridges of harmony across religious and ethnic divides.
The DG sought for cooperation from the people for government to deliver good governance as it had made remarkable progress in the areas of health, agriculture, education as well as security.
