Kogi: Governor Bello Preaches Peace As Muslims Celebrate Eid el Adha

Residents of Kogi state have been advised to sustain the peace in the state as Muslims celebrate the Eid el Adha.

The Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello gave the advise after performing the two raka’at Juma’a prayer at the Lokoja township stadium.

Radio Nigeria correspondent Sunny Adebija reports that the Governor called on on the people particularly youths  to remain obedient and law abiding to constituted authority.

While wishing the Muslim Ummah a blissful Eid, Alhaji Bello appealed to Nigerians to have a positive attitude towards the nation and entrench patriotism.

In his sermon after leading the two raka’ats Eid prayers, Imam Dahiru Hussaini urged Muslims to be righteous and ensure equity at all times.

Imam Hussaini encouraged the Ummah to have the spirit of sacrifice and extend hands of fellowship to the needy and less privileged in the society.

According to the Imam every faithful must strive against the temptations of Satan in order to attain eternal bliss.

The Cleric further prayed for peace, unity of the nation.
