He said there is need for organizations to effectively manage their human and financial resource as they are the most valuable resources any organization can have. “People are critical resource available for management to deploy towards achieving desired organizational objectives” he said.
According to him every organizations needs to plan for their human resource which includes identifying specific job functions and skills needed to effectively carry out the job required. I.e. organizations need to know their personnel and assign them jobs that best meet their skills and interest.
“Human resource planning and management gets pushed aside or to the background especially in small organizations, but it’s important for the growth and development of any organization.”
“The key to effective human resource planning is striking a balance between effective employees and efficient service, and human resource managers must strive to achieve this balance. ” Orobogha said.
He maintained that the work place will benefit if people rise beyond their comfort zone and are ready to give their best. “When people give their best, it behoves on the organization to reciprocate the good. Management must strive at win-win for the sake of the organization.
“If the management is proactive in handling people’s issues ahead of time, they can effectively create a pipeline of employees that are ready, willing and able to help the organization grow and meet its goal.”
On financial management, he said organizations need to prepare their budget, present and justify it before approval.
“Financial resource management also involves the maintenance of account that faithfully reflects financial activities and enable the provision of accurate and timely financial reports and other information pertaining to the receipt and use of funds.” he added.
“If efficient and effective management of resource during economic boom is important, it is even more critical in challenging times.
“There should be a deliberate effort geared towards monitoring and evaluation to ensure value for money spent in all economic activities.” He concluded.
