Senator Jeremiah Useini has emerged as the Governorship aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party PDP in plateau state for the twenty-nineteen general elections.
He pulled one thousand and eighteen votes to defeat twelve 0thers with member house of representatives Johnbull Shekaru getting three hundred and forty votes to come second.
Useini, a serving Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial Zone, was a one time Minister of the FCT and Military Governor in the old Bendel state.
The thirteen aspirants had signed an agreement to support any aspirant that emerges from the exercise.
He will face Governor Simon Lalong of the APC who was affirmed as the candidate of the ruling APC.
The delegates were accredited before voting began and ended in the early hours of today.
In all, two thousand and ninety-seven delegates from the seventeen local government areas of the state participated in the exercise.
Correspondent Josiah Buzun reports that the primaries was conducted peacefully as security personnel were present to ensure peace and order.
