Insecurity: Senators Hit President Buhari Hard
The House of Representatives has called for the resignation of all service chiefs as part of measures in tackling insecurity in the country.
This followed the amendment of the prayers of a motion on the need to curb the incessant attacks by the Boko Haram Insurgents moved by the chief whip Mohammed monguno at plenary.
Leading the debate the lawmaker expressed concern over the increase attacks by Boko Haram insurgents on people in the North East and the rising cases of kidnapping and gunmen attacks in other parts of the country.
Monguno further explained that recently the insurgents have forced the Nigerian military to close traffic on the Damaturu-Maiduguri Road for some days which is the only access road from Maiduguri to other parts of the country.
The chief whip also noted that the closure of the road was an indication that the Boko Haram insurgents had seized the road and attacked communities on that axis.
Amending the prayer which sought the service chiefs to relocate to Maiduguri after an extensive debate, the house resolved that all the service chiefs resign or be sacked by the president.
The house thereafter mandated its Committee on Defence and relevant committees to interface with the security chiefs to ensure compliance
