Insecurity: CSOs Urge FG To Stop Incessant Killings, Arrest Culprits
A coalition of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) has called on Federal Government to urgently stop the incessant killings in the country.
The group seeks the arrest of all those responsible for different killings across the country and restructuring of security agencies.
The coalition comprises Global Rights, Bring Back our Girls Movement, connected Democracy and Development among others.
Addressing news men in Abuja, the Country Director Global Rights, Abiodun Baiyewu-Teru said it is the responsibility of the government to protect lives and property of Nigerians.
She explained that the government inaction in the face of the continued killings is a compromise to the trust of Nigerians.
“The situation in the country and the negative attitude of service chiefs have sent a terrifying signal that Nigerian lives are cheap”
“We denounce this nonchalant attitude and demand accountability of our government, we demand that Nigerian government account for every life lost”
The group were seen carrying different placards with inscription such as Justice must prevail in the Nigeria, stop the massacre, enough is enough among others.
The rally started from Unity Fountain to Aso Villa and terminated at Unity Fountain in Abuja.
