INEC To Introduce Critical Changes In Conduct Of Future Elections
Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, says it will introduce critical changes in the conduct of future elections to strengthen the nation’s democratic process.
INEC Chairman Professor Mahmood Yakubu stated this in Abuja during a meeting with the States Resident Electoral Commissioners.
Professor Yakubu said an inter agency consultative committee on security had been set up to guide the commission on the proposed changes.
According to the chairman, the commission and security agencies are currently reviewing deployment of personnel during future elections in the country.
INEC chairman told the States Resident Electoral Commissioners to prepare adequately for the conduct of Edo and Ondo states governorship elections coming up this year.
